Who is behind Kalinio?

I am Arno Müller-Heinemann, an academic speech therapist (M.A.), osteopath and Pohl therapist in Munich. In my speech therapy work, I have supported people with various neurological impairments, including in intensive care facilities.
With Kalinio, I want to help people communicate their thoughts, wishes and needs as independently as possible – even when speaking and making deliberate hand movements are difficult. The app therefore offers different ways to make a selection, such as clicking the tongue, opening the mouth or sticking out the tongue.
It matters to me that the controls are suited to each person’s abilities. Not everyone finds every movement equally easy. Different input methods, an adjustable pace and personal settings are therefore intended to help people find a suitable way to use the app.
I continue to develop Kalinio step by step. Feedback from people who use the app, their family members and the professionals who support them is welcome: What helps in everyday life? What is still difficult to understand? And where is a different solution needed?
Kalinio helps people express themselves and be understood.
